Twayne's Authors Online, one of the NOVELny databases, has been switched to a new platform hosted by Gale’s eBook interface, the Gale Virtual
Reference Library. Central Library staff will explain the switch and the added benefits and content for this product. Additional information about literary research materials held by both Central and member libraries will be provided.

Growing Community Support

Whether your library goes out for a vote or not, it is wise to build additional support for your library on an ongoing basis. Every day should be viewed as an opportunity to educate the public and promote library services. A good communication campaign begins with educating library staff, trustees and supporters on how the library is funded and how that funding is used in support of the library’s mission.

Cassie Guthrie will review the “Growing Community Support” portion of the Mid-Hudson Library System’s Public Library Vote Toolbox; Elly Dawson will discuss Newark’s strategy to educate library staff and trustees about how good customer service leads to adequate funding; and Carol Garland and Patricia Baynes will participate in a panel (with a Sodus trustee) on building support in preparation for a library district vote with lots of time for Q&A.
