10:30am program: Making the Pioneer Way with Leah Hamilton, Melissa Correia, Kim Iraci, Jack Scott, Becky Sloane

How are libraries encouraging the Maker Movement in the Pioneer Library System? Find out what’s happening at the Phelps Community Memorial Library’s STEAM Lab. Leah Hamilton will discuss how they find instructors, things to consider when setting up a makerspace, how to find space and why it’s OK to NOT have a dedicated space. Leah will also demonstrate some of the technologies they have and talk about mistakes they’ve made.

Discover how the Williamson, Clifton Springs, Geneva and Livonia libraries encourage making during the panel discussion and take a look at some of the brand new Pioneer Mobile Maker Kits (Button Maker, Felting, GoPro Camera and Google Cardboard Virtual Reality)
