Kanopy Launch

OWWL Library System is funding Kanopy, OverDrive 's streaming video service. The planned soft-launch date is Thursday, September 28, 2023. Once we are satisfied that all features are working properly we will add the link to https://owwl.org and begin sharing social media posts. It would be great if your library helps with promotion; however, wait until you see System posts about it. That will indicate everything is working smoothly and we're ready for the full rollout.

The OWWL Library System Board of Trustees met on September 13, 2023. Here is a rundown of the meeting:

2023 OWWL Cost Shares

The OWWL Library System Board of Trustees voted in favor of a one-year 46% subsidy on OWWL Cost Shares.

The goal for reducing this year's cost to member libraries is to help them begin to fund computer replacements that will be impacted by the Windows 10 end-of-life in 2025 (details in the August 21, 2023 Director Briefing). If your computers are on an up-to-date replacement schedule, you're welcome to spend the leftover from this reduction in any way you'd like. If you can't think of anything, we're always happy to spend funds on the OverDrive collection if you'd like.

We will be invoicing for 2023 OWWL Cost Shares in the next couple of weeks.

For 2024, please budget for the traditional amount at the lower subsidy rate. We can only accommodate this reduction for 2023.

2023 OWWL Library System Annual Meeting & Election of Trustees

On October 11, 2023 we will have an in-person event at System HQ for a Trustee Workshop and the System's Annual Meeting/Election of Trustees.

Below is the loose agenda for the evening:

• 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Trustee Workshop with Stephanie Cole Adams. Registration Required.
• 6:40 PM - 7:00 PM: System Annual Meeting and Election of Trustees (this will be a quick meeting).

The hope is that Trustees attending the Trustee Workshop will stick around and participate in the Annual Meeting. As mentioned above, this will not take long.
