PLS Lauren - the Governor vetoed bill to allow libraries to form special legislative library districts

PLS Heidi - Emily Palumbos from Assemblyman Kolb's district office visited PLS. emily.palumbos@gmail.com Contact Emily if you'd like any of the brochures and flyers that the Assemblyman has about Bills to Law, NYS government process, etc.

Avon - a Summer Reading event with Senator Gallivan. He handed out certificates to each Super Reader. The kids were very excited.

Warsaw - Sen. Gallivan will be at the library Aug 26, 11am to make a proclamation and hand out certificates. Library is opened early for this special event.

Program: SpeakOUT - starts 10am

Topic: SpeakOUT: Successful LGBTQ Education - a workshop focused on becoming more confident and articulate while talking with others about LGBTQ issues. Professional development for your life!

Also, learn how to make your library a “SafeZone” for LGBTQ teens. This workshop is great information for front line library staff, teen librarians and library directors, or anyone who wants to know more about issues affecting the LGBTQ community.
