Evergreen Training

About

PLS offers training for: the Evergreen ILS covering circulation, holdings maintenance, patron management, the online catalog, etc.; general library topics, like collection development and management, etc.; technology services provided by PLS, such as email, Twiki, etc.; and general technology topics, such as social media tools, office software, etc.

Training sessions can be structured, formal offerings that have set class outlines and handouts (see list below) or custom sessions, where you decide what topics your staff needs. If a specific topic you need is not listed, request a custom session. It may turn into a formal session!

Formal Evergreen Training Sessions

These sessions have a set outline, and are often scheduled for open registration at PLSHQ or library locations. See the PLS Calendar of Events for current sessions and registration. Complete the Request On-site Training form to schedule a session at your library for your staff.

Click the links below to view full session information, including handouts, and other related materials.

Custom Training Sessions

If your staff has specific training needs, these can be accommodated through custom training. Complete the Request On-site Training form to start the conversation! Custom training may require more lead time to prepare than a formal session, depending on the training need. Custom training may also be as basic as "Can you please come to my library to answer questions??"

At the moment, anything that is not the above list of Evergreen topics is "custom"!

Request On-site Training

Complete this form to request formal and/or custom training. Fill out as much information as you can (or is applicable). Custom training in particular will involve more conversation about specific needs, topics, and expectations.
