Updated Supplemental Guidance on COVID-19 Sick Leave

Last Friday, HR Works sent out a notice that there have been updates to the supplemental guidance on COVID sick leave.

On January 21, 2021, the state issued updated guidance which supplements prior guidance on the application of COVID-19 Sick Leave. The updated guidance has new implications for all New York employers.

The updated guidance offers explanations on the order of quarantines, positive tests, and paying employees if asked to say home. I recommend all libraries read this guidance.

Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Hub

As questions come in about when, where, and how to receive the vaccine, libraries can refer to the new Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Hub.

Getting Your Vaccine
Check your eligibility, and learn about vaccination sites in the Finger Lakes. Because there is a limited supply of vaccine right now, it could take several weeks to schedule an appointment. More appointments will become available as supply increases.

If people have questions about eligibility, things they should be aware of, or safety information, this will be a good resource to share.

Construction Grants

It is still unknown how much funding we will receive for construction projects this year, but I encourage everyone to take a look at their facility plans to see if there is anything that needs to be renovated, updated, refurbished, or built. Last year we did not spend all of our aid, so it may be a good year to apply. Suzanne will be holding an information session on March 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Even if you just want to learn a bit more about the program and you do not plan on applying this year, I would recommend attending.
