Question of the Week: Committees and Open Meetings Law

Question: Ron, if our finance committee meets, does it need to be an open meeting?

Answer: OML questions have been popular recently. For this one, it depends. If you're a School District, Municipal, or Special Legislative Library, then yes, any meeting with two or more Trustees discussing library business must follow open meetings law. Association Libraries do not need to follow this requirement. However, following it if you receive public dollars is a good idea.
