Basics of Circulating E-reader Devices

The E-reader Committee (Chris Finger, Pat Finnerty, Ron Kirsop, and Lindsay Stratton) will discuss the basics of circulating e-reader devices, including: circulation policies, types of devices, content decisions, getting your devices into the catalog and setting up circulation rules.

Free Direct Access Plan

Every public library system must have a Free Direct Access Plan as part of their Plan of Service. Pioneer's plan was written in 1999. Changes in the economic landscape warrant the drafting of a revised plan, which must be approved by a majority of member library boards, the Pioneer board, and finally the Commissioner. Betsy will explain the regulations and present the draft plan for member discussion and comment. In its essence, Free Direct Access allows residents who live within Pioneer's geographic boundaries but not within a member chartered service area to:
