Expired card email notifications

As a result of email notifications sent to patrons with expired and soon-to-expire cards, 1680 patrons renewed their expired accounts and 2498 patrons renewed their accounts prior to expiration.

Fewer patrons renewed their cards without receiving email alerts - 642 expired account renewals and 1374 pre-expired account renewals.

Be sure to ask patrons if they use email, add email addresses to their accounts if they do, and be sure to keep the address updated!

NEW! Changes to Magazine Holdings

Always important for ALL materials: Complete copy records!

Example magazine attributes:

• Location = Magazines or appropriate shelving location
• Circulation Modifier = Magazine, New Magazine (even if you do not have special circulation policies for your magazines, use the Magazine circ modifier)
• Price = according to item (otherwise, if lost, the patron will be billed $25.57)
• Statistical Categories
  • Age Level = according to item
  • Annual Report Category = Print Serial (this is a requried element on the NYS Annual Report!)
  • Collection Development = Periodical
  • All others = Not Applicable

Forthcoming changes to Browse Reports

Removing the "Evergreen Reporter" output folder, so only one directory for scheduled reports. Happening "after Christmas."

FYI: problem with paying fines on items still checked out

Items that have had accruing fines paid up to the MAXFINE amount (generally $5.00) are considered "closed" transactions and cannot be renewed.
