Summary of Attendance

The attendance report was given by Pioneer Library System trustee Fran Smith: 170 people attended the meeting, representing 36 member libraries;
and 80 library trustees were present.

Election of PLS Trustee

Carolyn Meisel, on behalf of the Livingston County Public Library Advisory Council, nominated Patricia Lind to serve a 5-year term beginning January 1, 2013. With no other nominations from the floor, the president declared the nominations closed. Motion carried with no opposition.

Gail Grinnell, on behalf of the Wayne County Public Library Advisory Council, nominated John Lester to serve a 5-year term beginning January 1, 2013. With no other nominations from the floor, the president declared the nominations closed. Motion carried with no opposition.

Awards

Pioneer Awards:

• 2012 Library Director of the Year – given for significant achievement in providing improved library services
  to a community or region – awarded to Patricia Baynes, Palmyra Community Library.
• 2012 Library Trustee of the Year – for significant contribution to the improvement or development of library service,
  which exceeds normal expectations of trustees – awarded to John Lester, Red Creek Free Library.
• 2012 Library Advocate of the Year – given to an individual who makes a significant or unique contribution
  to promote library visibility and relevancy – Kristen Meyer.
