Pioneer Library System Response to COVID-19

The Pioneer Library System has implemented the following actions in response to the COVID-19 pandemic impacting our area:
  • Delivery to member libraries has been suspended.
  • The ability to place holds by patrons and library staff have been suspended.
  • All active holds have been adjusted to accommodate library closures.
  • Due dates have been adjusted for any currently checked out item to 6/30/2020. This date will be adjusted based on continued library closures.
  • We will prevent fines from accruing on any items that are already overdue until 6/30/2020. Please note that the due dates for overdue items will not be adjusted, but fines for those overdue items will not accrue.
  • We have extended the shelf expiration dates for items on hold shelves until 6/30/2020.
  • All library cards that were due to expire from 3/1/2020 through 6/29/2020 will be set to expire on 6/30/2020. This will preserve access to OverDrive / Owwl2go.
  • All in-person meetings have been moved to online or canceled.
  • All in-person consultations from Pioneer Library System staff have been suspended.
  • All scheduled technology installation projects from Pioneer Library System staff have been canceled.
  • PC and technology purchasing has been suspended.
  • All Pioneer Library System Employees are currently working from home.
Restrictions placed on system services will be evaluated based on current Executive Orders by the Governor of New York.
