PLS Notes June 19, 2020

Happy Friday! Here is this week's round up of news, information, and resources from the PLS team. As a reminder, PLS Notes is indexed on OWWL Docs under Member Library Documentation so past issues can be easily referenced.

Introduction to LibCal

On Thursday, June 25 @ 10am Andrea and Suzanne will be introducing LibCal to Directors and relevant staff. LibCal is an affordable, easy-to-use web platform designed to solve libraries' calendaring needs including online registration and event management. RAQs

Dan and Kathryn have started compiling a page on OWWL Docs of Recently Asked [Evergreen] Questions. Questions are numbered in the order they were added to the page. Inquiries answered and added to the page this week include:
  • Are we able to use the Amnesty Mode Checkin Modifier on all returned items or only on items owned by our library?
  • Do holds that are on holds shelves (waiting for pickup) count towards the limit of seven holds?
  • How will patrons be notified of available holds?
  • When are items checked out now going to be due? Should they be coming up as due in July?
  • If a patron logs in to the OPAC, will they get results limited to holdings for their home library?

While Help Desk Tickets and emails to evergreen@pls-net.org are always welcomed and encouraged, save time by checking the RAQ page first to see if your question has already been asked and answered. Or, you can drop-in to Evergreen Drop-Ins…

Evergreen Drop-Ins

Evergreen Drop-Ins continue next week! Dan and Kathryn will be available LIVE to field your questions as libraries begin to resume modified services. The next two drop-ins will focus especially on Holds, but Dan and Kathryn will happily answer any and all Evergreen questions. Sessions will last one hour. Below is the login information for the next two sessions:
